read moreAdelaide-based 24fit has been ranked as Australia's top ranked fitness chain in Canstar Blue’s annual ratings, earning five-star reviews for overall customer satisfaction along with staff availability and value for money.
Topping Canstar Blue’s review of customer satisfaction in their gyms and fitness clubs, 24fit was followed Jetts, Snap Fitness, Fitness First and Fernwood Fitness in the top five, while F45 Training, which had topped the list for the past four years, dropped to a ranking of ninth - losing out on perceptions of value for money and atmosphere.
The survey found that only three brands were rated five stars for value for money, while the majority were rated four stars, with the survey advising that this “indicates that there’s room for improvement across the gym industry”.
Writing about the findings, Canstar Blue’s Content Projects Lead, Dean Heckscher explained that 24fit, which had not previously feature in the top 10, “has gyms in South Australia and Queensland, with the main business model of 24fit is, surprisingly, to offer 24-hour access to members.
“Membership costs will vary between locations, as will the number of plans available, with memberships plans including student, flexi, casual, results, xpress, black and annual, with a list of classes and timetables available on the 24fit website for each location.”
24fit describes itself as “an Australian owned, family business proud to be servicing fellow Australians and dedicated to doing things better.”
Rounding out positions six to 10 on the list are Anytime Fitness, World Gym, Plus Fitness and Goodlife Health and Fitness.
Overall gyms on Canstar Blue’s list are rated on flexibility and perks, atmosphere, equipment and facilities, staff availability, value for money and overall satisfaction.
Are gym memberships worth the money?
Canstar Blue has also advised that Australians are spending over $700 a year on a gym membership, releasing insights including:
