Expanding the concept of Australia and New Zealand’s Parks Week globally, the week-long celebration provides organisations with more options to align events and engage their communities.
The now annual event is held at this time of year to enourage park management bodies in the more highly-populated northern hemisphere to run events that allow participants to make the most of spring weather.
In the southern hemisphere, the event coincides with the arrival of autumn offering two opportunities to celebrate parks parks in different seasons. World Urban Parks has previously held World Parks Day in September.
