Western Australian Government releases factsheet on how easing of Coronavirus restrictions will impact community sport and recreation
May 7, 2020

Western Australia's Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) has released a Community Sport and Active Recreation COVID-19 Factsheet to provide guidance for organisations and businesses following the state government announcement on 26th April that it is to introduce a cautious easing of Coronavirus restrictions.

With Australia's national cabinet set to meet tomorrow to chart a national approach to the easing of restrictions for community sport and active recreation, the Western Australian factsheet outlines what the current restrictions mean for for the sector, and what organisations should do before commencing any activities.

While the Factsheet confirms that indoor sporting venues and non-essential local government infrastructure remain closed, it does advise that outdoor activity, including bootcamps, can be conducted in small groups (not more than 10 persons in total, including instructors) and with social distancing (ensuring 4 metre² of space per person and maintaining a 1.5 metre distance from others).

It also emphasises that there should be no sharing of exercise equipment or communal facilities.
