Sunbather boosts energy efficiency for Ballarat and Warringah Aquatic Centres

Sunbather boosts energy efficiency for Ballarat and Warringah Aquatic Centres
May 10, 2015

Leading solar pool heating and pool cover supplier Sunbather Pool Technologies has completed two significant installations in NSW and Victoria.

As part of the City of Ballarat’s $17 million development of a new 50-metre swimming pool at the Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre, Sunbather designed, manufactured and installed a Wall Mounted Motorised Blanket and Roller system for this pool.

The 4 x 50 metre blankets are deployed onto the pool using the Sunbather MI60 SuperSlave – which talks to the motor to regulate the speed that the Slave works at the same speed as the roller.

The rollers automatically retrieve the blankets with a push of a button.

The two ramp blankets are stored on a small wall mounted motorised roller which automatically retracts the blankets.

Commenting on the installation, Sunbather, National Commercial Sales executive Pam Robinson explained “a structure was provided as per our design to fix the wall brackets to so there were no surprises during installation.”

Sunbather has also recently finished changing over three large heatpumps at Warringah Aquatic Centre.

The changeover and removal and disposal of old units along with rebuilding of the shelter and fencing was completed and commissioned in a three day period from start to finish with the pool only losing one degree of its heat.

Following the changeover, Warringah Council Projects and Contracts Officer Rick Briske stated "I would like to thank Sunbather Pty Ltd for the cooperative and professional way the works were undertaken, and would encourage your company to make a bid for any similar works tendered by the Council in the future.”
