read moreSingapore’s new Bird Paradise attraction at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve welcomed about 3,000 members of the public on the first day of its soft opening. Bird Paradise’s soft launch period runs until 26th May 2023 and expects to see about 20,000 guests in its first week.
To give the avian residents time to settle in, and make operational adjustments where needed, the park is operating at 75% capacity, before ramping up capacity for the June school holiday season
The first eight guests to enter Bird Paradise received a one-year Friends of Wildlife membership, which entitles them to unlimited visits to any of the four wildlife parks at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Existing members will get a complimentary Bird Discovery Tour. The tokens of appreciation were presented by Mike Barclay, Group Chief Executive of Mandai Wildlife Group, who was joined by management and staff who greeted the first guests at the park entrance.
As visitors streamed in, they were enthralled by the first flight of avian presentations as well as the up-close interactions with many feathered friends at feeding sessions and keeper talks in the eight large walk-through aviaries and the Ocean Network Express Penguin Cove. As one of the last batch of birds to move to Bird Paradise, the penguins continue to explore their new state-of-the-art, multi-level indoor habitat while guests look on in awe of the fascinating oceanic life of penguins, both above and underwater.
From dining with the penguins at Penguin Cove Café to feasting on the waterfall views at Crimson Restaurant, all in-park F&B at Bird Paradise, except for Penguin Cove Restaurant and Bird Bakery, are now open for diners to enjoy. To mark the opening of Bird Paradise and Mandai Wildlife West, the ungated public node that serves as the gateway to the new bird park, select tenants at Mandai Wildlife West including Birds of Paradise Gelato Boutique & Sandwich Bar and A&W® Restaurants are launching opening specials for a limited time.
