July 14, 2022

The construction phase of the $28.4 million Salisbury Aquatic and Recreation Precinct Redevelopment in North Salisbury, South Australia has commenced. And is expected to be completed in 2024.

South Australian business, Mossop Construction and Interiors, is tasked with delivering the Salisbury Aquatic and Recreation Precinct Redevelopment.

The City of Salisbury received $7.185 million from the South Australian Government’s Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program in 2021 to help make the redevelopment a reality.

Key elements of the redevelopment include; a new 50-metre outdoor pool, heated 25-metre indoor lap and leisure pools, water slides, a gymnasium, water play park and café.

City of Salisbury community has played an integral role in shaping the project, with the redevelopment set to provide a facility that delivers on the vision of the local community.

The combination of indoor and outdoor pools enables year-round usage, while also encouraging visitors to enjoy the fantastic natural surroundings and walking trails.

City of Salisbury Mayor Gillian Aldridge said it was exciting to see construction commence, with the community eagerly awaiting the project’s completion in 2024.

Mayor Aldridge notes “the Salisbury Aquatic and Recreation Precinct has been a much-loved community facility for many years, and this project will deliver important new facilities that will benefit the entire community.

“The City of Salisbury takes the health and wellbeing of our community very seriously and this magnificent recreational facility will continue to be a popular location to connect with others, be active and enjoy the beautiful natural surrounds, which enhances our quality of life.”
