The tourism experience is a joint venture between Ngai Tahu Tourism (a subsidiary of Ngai Tahu Holdings which is governed by Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu) and New Zealand Rugby, and will offer a fully guided state-of-the-art interactive showcase of the All Blacks and all New Zealand’s national teams in black.
As the management services provider for the partnership, Ngai Tahu Tourism now recruiting for the Business Manager role, with the successful candidate expected to join the team by January 2020.
All Blacks Experience Partnership Chair Dame Julie Christie “this is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead a world-class experience.”
The attraction will be located on the fourth floor of the current SKYCITY Convention Centre on Federal Street and will include a retail outlet and a food and beverage offering.
Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu Kaiwhakahaere Lisa Tumahai said recruiting a Business Manager was an important milestone for the iwi in the lead up to the launch of the highly-anticipated All Blacks Experience next year, advising “we are excited to partner with an iconic New Zealand brand like the All Blacks, and look forward to this new experience joining Ngai Tahu Tourism’s 13 other businesses that host over a million manuhiri (visitors) each year.”
The 45-minute state-of-the-art experience will take customers on an interactive guided tour that will immerse manuhiri in the history, culture and people who have made the All Blacks such an important part of New Zealand’s story. The experience will include a hands-on interactive zone which gives manuhiri the chance to try their kicking, catching, line out and accuracy skills against the All Blacks.
Ngai Tahu Tourism Chief Executive Quinton Hall says the company is working with H2R Recruitment to find a Business Manager.
Hall concluded “we’re looking for someone who has a high level of forward thinking, enthusiasm and previous experience in a similar operational role. And of course, a passion for rugby is a must.
“At Ngai Tahu Tourism, manaakitanga (hospitality) is one of our core values and it drives the way we do business, so we’re looking for someone who will care for our team and manuhiri as their own whanau (family).”
