Precor ready to reveal versatile exercise offering at Sydney fitness events
March 31, 2017

Leading equipment supplier Precor will be showcasing its new lines and highlighting the versatility of its product range at The Fitness Show and FILEX 2017 at the newly opened International Convention and Exhibition Centre Sydney at the end of April.

With a line-up featuring the new Experience Series™ 700 Line, P62 touch screen console, Experience Series™ EFX® with Converging CrossRamp®, Preva MyUI™ and Discovery Series™ Benches and Racks, Precor’s display at Booth R11 will also feature Master Coaches - on hand to advise and demonstrate the Precor product portfolio.

Previewing Precor’s display, Adam Hubbard, Precor’s Director of Product Management, explained “versatility provides operators with the ability to build a fitness business that meets exercisers’ unique needs.

“The new and extended lines from Precor continue to provide high quality, reliable equipment that gives operators, both large and small, a broad choice to grow their business and keep members engaged.”

Precor will be showcasing a collection of cardio, networked fitness, strength and functional training products that help operators and exercisers discover the flexibility of the brand, the lineup features new products, as well as industry favourites:

• Experience Series™ 700 Line - designed with the quality and durability operators expect from Precor to suit a variety of business models, providing broader choice options for both large and boutique fitness facilities, while still enabling members to exercise on a high quality product.

• P62 touch screen console. Available on the Experience Series® 800 and 700 cardiovascular lines, the new P62 console features an industrial grade, high definition screen.

The 13”screen has touch screen controls permanently embedded in its surface enabling an optimum 10.5” media viewing experience to be maintained throughout the workout. When networked, the P62 receives free automatic software updates and refreshed content. An integrated asset management feature is included to enable facilities to easily access diagnostics and usage information. As well as being a touch screen, the unit also features large motion controls, allowing exercisers to easily change the resistance and motion of a workout.

• Experience Series™ EFX® with Converging CrossRamp®. The Patented Converging CrossRamp® is designed to simulate the normal converging path of motion as a person walks and runs, making exercise feel more natural, reducing knee flexion. The adjustable CrossRamp® technology provides ramp inclines from 10 to 35 degrees to target different muscle groups for more workout variety.

Other premium features include a more personalised workout with the touch screen console, a modernised design and a sleeker frame. The machine is also easier to clean and maintain as it has a covered ramp, rear cover and pivot joints. It’s faster to service due to many tool-less detachable panels, and the Active Status Light alerts staff when it needs attention. The EFX® is available in both fixed arm and moving arm models.

• Preva MyUI™ Featured on the P82, P62 and backward compatible on existing P80 consoles, Preva MyUI is an enhanced user interface system, which turns Precor’s networked cardio screens into an interactive communications platform. Operators can now differentiate how they connect with exercisers by customising screen content and personalising branded messages, knowing they have the member’s undivided attention during their workout.
They can focus the experience they deliver by easily customising the walk-up screen, generating awareness of new classes, additional products and services, allowing them to build a community, retain members and boost secondary revenue. Through Preva MyUI, members have the ability to click through to their club’s web page to access class schedules and offers.

• Discovery Series™ Benches and Racks. Providing a broad range of exercises for both seasoned lifters and those new to strength, additions to the Precor Discovery Series™ Benches and Rack Strength range include a Power Rack, Half Rack and Multi-Adjustable Bench. In addition, a complete range of Olympic benches, multiple use benches, functional benches and storage options round out the line. The power rack enables the use of bands, chains, Torso Trainers, Battle Ropes, Suspension Training and more, alongside traditional Power Rack exercises, while the Half Rack offers a more space-efficient footprint, ideal for facilities with limited space. The multi-adjustable bench provides multiple angles for a variety of lifting exercises.

• Precor Education and Coaching Centre. Precor education enables facilities to ensure members get the most out of their workouts and equipment. Queenax™ functional training is now supported with in-depth coaching with a certified Precor Master Coach so that facilities can bring the unit alive by offering versatile training selections.

Unique Queenax™ training tools and third party products provide a variety of classes, including 4D PRO® Reaction Trainer, AntiGravity® Fitness, Stoops® and Revvll® Pro Rope Trainer for Small Group Exercise, circuit and PT training, along with an endless array of exercises.

Being aware of emerging trends and with a reputation for innovation, Brian Kane, Precor’s Strategist and Corporate Development Manager, expects that the future will see “the emergence of the active wellness consumer as the main driver of change in the fitness industry.

“Unlike the legacy consumer, fitness and wellness is a core part of their lifestyle. This has resulted in far greater spend on fitness and wellness, increasingly from a greater number of facilities and service providers. So while low-cost clubs have drawn in new participants from outside the industry, they have also enabled mid-market members to trade down to a low-cost club, while also shifting spend to specialty fitness boutiques which attract millennials who have the mindset and willingness to pay for a personalised unique experience.

“This trend is similar to many other consumer verticals, where being ‘caught in the middle’ requires either incredible execution or a shift in business model.

“Precor is committed to helping operators of all health club business models. With an expanded Experience Series™ Cardio product line up including the new 700 Line and the choice of size of a networked console such as the P62, we can support a greater range of usage and personalisation requirements.

“Additionally, with the continued growth of Queenax™ functional fitness and Spinning® indoor cycling, we are committed to helping operators bring boutique experiences to their clubs. “Consumers want both self-service experiences and high-touch personalised fitness. We are dedicated to helping them achieve both.”
