read morePalmerston Water Park is to benefit from the installation of CCTV cameras to complement a recently-completed new shade over the toddler pool.
The Northern Territory Government has sought tenders to supply, install, test and commission new CCTV cameras at the water park, which will improve public safety and provide increased protection to the park’s valuable assets. Over 50 tenderers have downloaded the tender documents.
Works on the cameras are anticipated to commence by early March, with completion of the upgrade due by May 2019.
Commenting on the additions, Northern Territory Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, Eva Lawler stated “the CCTV tender calls for the new cameras to be integrated with the current CCTV system to increase the coverage of security at the Palmerston Water Park."
The new shade was constructed by local company, NT Shade, and delivers a cooler and sun-safe spot for families and children visiting the water park.
The shade project cost $100,000 and created five jobs.
The Palmerston Water Park attracts close to 40,000 people a year and the upgrades to shade cover are expected tol increase visitation and offer families in the area more sun-safe ways to cool off on hot days.
The shade fabric provided by NT Shade has the highest UV protection and will reduce pool water temperatures.
