Nominations open for 2025 NSW Tourism Awards with a spotlight on business event venues
June 17, 2025

Nominations are now open for the 2025 NSW Tourism Awards, with a revamped category spotlighting the state’s vibrant business events sector. The Business Event Venues category recognises the essential role that meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions play in driving the NSW visitor economy.

The Awards are the pinnacle of achievement for the state’s tourism industry. More than just accolades, they recognise innovation, commitment, and excellence across a wide spectrum of tourism services – from attractions and festivals to food, wine and accommodation.

The inclusion of the business event venues category highlights the growing recognition of this sector as a powerful economic and cultural contributor. Open to venues of all sizes and locations across NSW, the category recognises excellence in business operations, product development, marketing, customer service, and sustainable and responsible practices.

Natalie Godward, Chief Executive of the NSW Tourism Association, said it’s time to formally recognise the transformative impact of business events and the people and places behind the venues that host them.

Godward advised “we’re lucky to have such diversity in our business event venues, from inland retreats and historic theatres to ocean-side function spaces, purpose-built convention centres, converted warehouses and outdoor garden areas.

“These venues deliver memorable experiences to corporate travellers and delegates every day. We want to showcase their work, the immersive moments they create, the sustainability initiatives they champion, and the partnerships they forge across the tourism landscape.

“The nomination process, which is quick and easy, offers a structured framework to assess business performance, benchmark against leading operators, and enhance visibility in a competitive market.

“For venues seeking to build trust with stakeholders, clients and industry partners, becoming a finalist or winner provides a mark of distinction that can elevate your profile and impact.”

Winners in this category will progress to the 2025 Australian Tourism Awards, gaining national recognition and the chance to be named among the country’s best. With this year marking the Awards’ 40th anniversary, it’s an especially memorable time to be honoured on the national stage.

Each year, the Awards culminate in a Gala Celebration to be held on Thursday, 27th November 2025 at Waterview in Bicentennial Park, Sydney Olympic Park.

Nominating takes just five minutes, and businesses have access to extensive support throughout the submission process – including access to the Entrant Support Program webinars, an online resource hub, entry tips, draft reviews and personalised guidance – all included in the entry fee.
