read moreVolleyball Australia has announced the appointment of international sports administrator Jenny Mann to the role of Chief Executive of the Adelaide 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championships.
Mann will head up the event having recently served as General Manager Acquisition and Development for the South Australian Tourism Commission and bringing with her a wealth of skills having worked at the International Olympic Committee, Beijing World Athletics Championships, Adelaide 2015 World Duathlon Championships as well as Global Sports Advisor for the Los Angeles Times.
Volleyball Australia President, Craig Carracher enthused “We are thrilled to welcome Jenny as the CEO of the Adelaide World Championships, which is set to be the largest beach volleyball tournament ever held in the southern hemisphere.
“Jenny’s extensive background working on international sporting events together with her strong passion for Adelaide and South Australia, made her the right person for the role.
“We witnessed the power that major sporting events like the FIFA Women’s World Cup can have in Australia in bringing together fans, participants and local communities to celebrate the very best sport has to offer. The Beach World Champs will bring the world’s top Volleyball players down under, putting the sport on the map and leveraging the green and gold runway leading into the 2032 Olympic Games.
“With just under two years to go until the event in Adelaide, Jenny will hit the ground running as we look to galvanize our volleyball community and get Australia excited for this iconic event, which will feature center stage under the Eiffel Tower in this year’s Paris Olympics.”
Commencing in the role this week, Mann said she is thrilled to be working together with Volleyball Australia to build out an event that can create real legacy for the sport at the grass roots and elite level.
“I’m very excited to be taking on the role to maximise the opportunity the Beach Volleyball World Championships will create for Adelaide and Australia. Beach volleyball is synonymous with Australians and to have the sport’s largest tournament since the Sydney 2000 Olympics being held in Adelaide is incredible.
“It will be great to be leading an experienced events team and working with our stakeholders in Volleyball Australia, FIVB, Volleyball World as well as the South Australian Government, to make the 2025 World Championships the biggest yet.
“The goal will be to leverage this event to lift the profile of beach volleyball both here at home and internationally, and also lay a strong foundation leading into the 2032 Olympic Games,” added Mann.
