Fitness equipment supplier, Lifespan Fitness, collated the top most viewed fitness trends from TikTok and then utilising the keyword search volume tool, Semrush, they collected the monthly global searches for each to finally unveil the most searched for fitness trends making the biggest impressions in 2023.

Lifespan Fitness revealed that Reformer Pilates is the ultimate fitness trend as it acquires an impressive 238,400 monthly global searches. Reformer Pilates is a form of body conditioning exercise that utilises reformer machines to improve body flexibility, strength and stamina.

Lifespan Fitness note “With a record number of 27.4 million TikTok views (and growing!), Reformer Pilates has taken the social media platform by storm, reigning as the hottest fitness trend overall.”

The second most popular fitness trend is the 75 Hard Challenge, gaining over 145,100 monthly searches. This challenge consists of following five self-improvement activities daily for over 75 days – from a set nutrition plan that suits your fitness goal but no cheat meals and cutting alcohol from your diet, to completing two 45-minutes workouts a day. This rigorous challenge aims to target mental and physical improvements, which has captured the curiosity of fitness pros and newbies alike with over 28.3 million views on TikTok.

Under-Desk Treadmill is the third most popular fitness trend, with over 70,600 monthly searches. This fitness equipment proves to be the next growing trend that many are keeping tabs on, seeing over 3.3 million views. With Under-Desk Treadmills, maintaining a workout regime during longer work days at home or in-office has certainly never been more accessible.

Rounding off the top five fitness trends includes, 12-3-30 Treadmill Workout (65,030 monthly searches), and Weighted Hula Hoop (61,400 monthly searches) which follow in fourth and fifth respectively.

Methodology:

1. Lifespan Fitness sought to find TikTok’s popular fitness trends according to the most watched and searched for trends.
2. First, they collated a seed list of the current 2023 fitness trends from TikTok such as ‘cosy cardio’, ‘5 minutes stairmaster’, ‘12-3-30 treadmill workout’, ‘shy girl workouts’ etc, where the total number of views on the social media platform were noted.
3. Then, they used the keyword search volume tool, Semrush, to collect the monthly global searches for each relevant keyword and all its variations.
4. The overall monthly global search volume for each keyword was tallied to determine the most searched for fitness trends of 2023.
5. Finally, the trends with the highest number of monthly global search volumes are deemed as the most popular fitness trend people are keeping a close watch on.
6. Data was collected between 16th - 19th October 16th - 19th 2023, and is subject to change.
