Land, Environment and People at Lincoln University
Lincoln University has launched a new research centre, LEaP, for Land Environment and People.
LEaP is designed to be a network for creating and sharing knowledge and to foster interdisciplinary research within the University and its external partners.
It currently comprises five research themes: changing landscape; tourism, business and community; climate change, peak oil and society; global justice and environmental policy; and human dimensions of fisheries and aquaculture.
LEaP aims to enhance the economic, environmental and social sustainability of societies in New Zealand and elsewhere. As LEap Director Associate Professor Dr. Susanne Becken explains "a particular focus of LEaP is to improve our understanding of local-global change interactions and by motivating and engaging stakeholders to participate in making a difference."
