FFA Chief Executive David Gallop today advised of a "new management structure that aims to improve organisational alignment, streamline decision-making and enable better service delivery to stakeholders".
Gallop stated “we are constantly evolving and looking to ensure that we can deliver on football’s uniquely broad agenda with a management structure which produces strategic alignment across our functions and operates smoothly for our stakeholders in the most cost-efficient way.
“I take this opportunity to thank John and David for their enormous efforts in their time at FFA.”
The restructure will see current Head of Corporate Strategy, International & Government Relations Mark Falvo assume the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer.
In addition to his existing responsibilities, Falvo will also assume responsibility for Finance, Corporate Affairs and Communications and People and Culture.
FFA's Head of Commercial, Digital & Marketing Luke Bould will assume the new title of Chief Commercial Officer and in doing so adopt an even greater focus on accelerating the commercial growth of football.
Commenting on the appointment, Gallop advised “Mark’s deep knowledge of the mechanics of Australian football, combined with his new remit, will enhance FFA’s ability to execute it strategic priorities across the whole of the game.”
Gallop did not reveal the terms of Kent, who only joined FFA in November 2016, and Cohen’s retrenchment or their settlement packages.
Both are understood to have been part of the FFA’s executive team in Russia during the recent FIFA 2018 World Cup.
Kent and the FFA’s communications team received the Crisis Communication Award at the 2017 Leisure Industry Communication and Marketing Summit.
