Camden Council is celebrating International Day of People with Disability (3rd December) by offering free pool entry to local individuals with disability and their carers. For two weeks from Saturday 27th November to Friday 10th December 2021, Camden residents can have free access to Mt Annan Leisure Centre and Camden War Memorial Pool.

Celebrated annually on 3rd December, International Day of People with Disability helps increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions.

The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world.’

A Council spokesperson advised “Council aims to foster and enhance participation by all residents in the life of the community and is committed to building and maintaining strong links with our residents who have disabilities and their carers.

“This includes wet wheelchair access to Camden’s two water play spaces located at Curry Reserve in Elderslie and Dawson-Damer Park in Oran Park.”

Residents can gain free access to Mt Annan Leisure Centre and Camden War Memorial Pool by signing in at each venue and showing their carers or disability card.
