BASSINTHEGRASS unveils lineup for 22nd edition in 2025

BASSINTHEGRASS unveils lineup for 22nd edition in 2025
February 13, 2025

The line-up for the Northern Territory’s largest music festival, BASSINTHEGRASS has been announced for the event’s 22nd edition being held on 17th May 2025.

Held at Mindil Beach, BASSINTHEGRASS will feature 18 Australian and international artists across three stages, with 12 artists making their BASSINTHEGRASS debut.

BASSINTHEGRASS is delivered by Northern Territory Major Events Company and is an all-ages music festival. NTMEC Interim Chief Executive, Trevor Cox advised “the all-ages music festival continues to evolve, offering fresh experiences for both new visitors and longtime fans.

“Over 22 years, the Territory’s favourite music festival has grown into a must-attend event on the national festival calendar. It’s also one of the most affordable festivals in Australia.

“BASSINTHEGRASS is bringing international artists together with Australia’s best, giving music fans the chance to experience world-class performances in a stunning beachside setting while continuing to support Australian artists on a big stage.”

Hip-hop royalty Hilltop Hoods, fresh off their new single The Gift (featuring Darwin’s own Marlon), will be joined by a diverse range of artists, including international acts Jax Jones and house duo Jaded, both from the United Kingdom, as well as Nigeria’s Kah-Lo.

The Territory’s own DJ/Producer Cyril will take the stage after a standout year in 2024, where his single Stumblin’ In became the most-played song on Australian radio.

Other artists announced include Hot Dub Time Machine, Meg Mac, The Jungle Giants, The Amity Affliction, and folk-pop duo The Dreggs.

With 12 artists appearing at BASSINTHEGRASS for the first time, this year’s festival promises fresh talent and exciting performances.

NT Minister for Major Events Marie-Clare Boothby advised “Music festivals such as BASSINTHEGRASS draw in thousands of festivalgoers both from the Territory and interstate, which is fantastic for our economy.

“This is great news for our tourism and hospitality sectors, as visitors get out and about to experience everything the Territory has to offer.

“In the past few weeks, our government has delivered a trifecta of new flight routes - Darwin-Gold Coast, Darwin-Denpasar and Alice Springs-Cairns routes - so we can get more people to enjoy the Territory.

“In 2024, BASSINTHEGRASS provided a $13.12 million boost to the Territory economy, of which $6.9 million was new money to the Territory.

“While many of Australia’s large music festivals have faltered and are no longer running, BASSINTHEGRASS continues to thrive, building a loyal fanbase who look forward to returning every year and cementing its reptation as one of Australia’s premier and most enduring music festivals.”

New to festival this year will be BASS Camp, a retreat designed for the whole family to enjoy, complete with kids’ activities for $250 an adult and $50 per child. BASS Camp offers an exclusive space where younger kids can enjoy their own silent disco, face painting, a glitter station, and more.

Fans can also elevate their experience with premium packages designed to make the most of the tropical festival vibe. These include ‘ReFresh’, which provides a retreat from the festival crowds and a place to take a breather and avoid the queues ($250, 18+); and ‘Oasis’ which offers express entry, drink and food vouchers, shaded side-of-stage views, and a dedicated bar for the ultimate luxury festival experience ($350, 18+).
