AUSactive calls for input to future fitness trends survey

AUSactive calls for input to future fitness trends survey
July 11, 2022

Launching its fourth Health and Fitness Industry Trends survey, AUSactive is inviting input as to the hot industry trends of 2023 - whether it be functional training, wearable technology, Pilates or a new wave of training.

Advising that the Health and Fitness Industry Trends Report aims to help the range of health and fitness business in the industry stay at the forefront of what’s trending and what new options can be offered to their clients and gym members, AUSactive Chief Executive, Barrie Elvish advised “the survey is about identifying trends across the whole community, not just in a commercial setting. It also helps map the fitness trends of Australians compared to the rest of the world and it’s amazing how these trends have shifted in recent years.

“We know from recent data from the Les Mills Research Lab that live workouts remains the pinnacle workout experience, over digital. It will be interesting to see the results of the industry trends as our sector continues to evolve to the needs of active people.”

Last year’s survey found functional fitness training was rated the top trend with most other countries and regions also ranking this trend in their top 10.

Elvish added “functional training provides an excellent all-round workout and may have a social aspect to it too, so it’s no surprise this was the top trend last year after long periods of pandemic-induced isolation. In addition, strength training with free weights continues to feature highly amongst the trends globally thanks to many people easily adapting these types of workouts at home in their own time.

“A focus on fitness programs for all abilities and older adults are gaining a lot of momentum and it would be fantastic to see how these trend in our survey,”

“We are looking forward to seeing what the top trend of 2023 will be and are urging all business owners and managers, exercise professionals, allied health professionals and medical professionals involved in the fitness sector to have their say.”

Input to the anticipated future health and fitness trends survey is invited up to 31st July.
