read moreWith significant pressures and barriers still impacting businesses and artists, the Australian Government has opened applications for round five of the Live Music Australia program, with $2.5 million in targeted funding assistance available.
Round five aims to help in sustaining Australia’s vibrant music festival ecosystem in 2023.
Live music festivals are an important aspect of our Australian music ecology – and a vibrant part of Australia’s arts and culture landscape.
The updated guidelines target the current needs of the sector, with grants up to $100,000 available to support Australian music festivals, including assistance in offsetting increased operating, wage and insurance costs.
This will enable the delivery of music focused festivals and presenting original Australian live music acts.
The Australian Government notes that the $20 million Live Music Australia program reflects the their commitment to “getting more artists back on stage to showcase original music, enabling diverse audiences to fully immerse themselves in our unique Australian sound.”
In addition to uplifting businesses, the program will continue its support of development, growth and innovation of Australian contemporary music and foster collaborations to create a sustainable and growing Australian music industry.
Applications for round five close on Thursday 17th November, 11:30pm AEDT.
