Over 18metres long, the water inflatable is a Wipeout (TV Game Show) - inspired obstacle course with a rope swing at the end.
Pool staff were very excited to finally have the public enjoy the new addition, with Waitaki Aquatic Centre co-ordinator Simon Terry noting the centre had been planning for the arrival of the new inflatable for a long time and adding the new attraction delivers variety to the apparatus the centre already has.
Terry shares “It is a challenging inflatable, completely different to all our existing inflatables at the aquatic centre. It is absolutely massive in the pool and it looks like a huge amount of fun.”
The new inflatable is for ages eight and above and users must be able to swim unaided for 15metres as the exit is be via the deep end of the pools.
Waitaki Aquatic Centre advises that the new inflatable will be on a rotating cycle with other smaller inflatables.
The Waitaki Aquatic Centre is owned and operated by Waitaki District Council and offers a swimming facility featuring a 25 metre lap pool, spa pool and a junior pool.
As well as providing visitors with an inflatable attraction experience, the Centre also offers a range of swim and fitness programmes as well as providing casual pool access for recreational swimming. Aqua Fit and Aqua-jogging are among the classes available which are suitable for everyone to participate in.
New Zealand-based Aflex Inflatables supply commercial pool inflatables, aquatic toys and games, aquatic parks and playgrounds, waterslides, marine and open water products, and fitness and obstacle course features.
