The Screen Culture Program replaces the Audience Engagement Program and funding will provide vital support to organisations presenting screen activities across the state that bring audiences together to participate in outstanding screen experiences.
Screen Culture investment enables communities across Victoria to access diverse screen work and experiences, from film and television to digital media, games and virtual reality. Funding is open to Victorian-based organisations with a proven track record of delivering creative programs, and encourages proposals that reflect diversity, equity, and inclusion in both content and creative teams.
VicScreen Chief Executive Caroline Pitcher advised “we are committed to fostering a thriving, inclusive screen culture that not only showcases exceptional screen content but also amplifies diverse voices and perspectives. Through this program, we will elevate Victoria as a dynamic hub of creative and cultural activity.”
Eligible activities include film festivals and programs, digital games showcases narrative-driven interactive experiences, one-off events and activities at the intersection of traditional and new technologies. The program offers grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 depending on the scale and reach of the proposed activity.
Applications for the Screen Culture Program opened this week. Interested organisations are encouraged to visit the VicScreen website for detailed guidelines and application times.
Applications will be assessed based on their contribution to Victoria as a vibrant hub of creative and cultural activity, including their ability to engage diverse audiences, foster community connections, and promote innovation.
