read moreMiles Per Hour and Event Workforce have merged to form the company Spark Event Group aimed at supplying a comprehensive, experienced and proven end-to-end solution for event management, logistics and workforce.
Miles Per Hour is an established go-to event operator providing event strategy, budgets, project planning, stakeholder management, procurement, documentation, site/venue management, delivery and reviews.
Event Workforce Group is a proven world-class supplier of smart workforce solutions, physical and digital. Its respected Academy provides tertiary institutes and students with specialised training and experience.
Additionally, Spark calls on sister company Rosterfy to provide the technology behind complicated personnel supply needs.
Miles Per Hour and Event Workforce Group were already working together on a number of Australia’s biggest events and venues including Australian Formula One Grand Prix, Melbourne and Olympic Parks Trust, Australian Open, White Night Melbourne and Regional, Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and Red Bull Wings for Life World Run.
Together as Spark, they provide a seamless service that is better able to meet the broadening needs of their wide variety of clients.
On the ground, event owners will notice very little difference day-to-day as they will work with the same people from Miles Per Hour and Event Workforce Group and as events and venues expand and evolve, Spark will meet the changing need.
The new Spark Event Group remains Australian owned and operated, combining the two companies under the same founding owners, both established identities in the events business.
Managing Director of the group Geordie Miles, founder of Miles Per Hour, said he is inspired to be leading the Spark Event Group team into a future of opportunity within the broad, dynamic and life-enhancing industry.
Miles advised “it’s a fantastic development for our staff, both permanent and casual as it provides a pathway into senior roles, as well as our existing clients and the industry as a whole.”
Shannan Gove, Co-Founder of Event Workforce Group, describes the union as the culmination of five years’ relationship adding “it makes great sense to combine the experience and know-how of two proven high performers in an industry which is ever changing and evolving.
“Spark now provides for every facet of event workforce and integrates proven, expert event management.”
Gove’s Co-Founder of Event Workforce Group, Bennett Merriman, says the new Spark is a one-plus-one-equals-three noting “the purpose behind the companies remains the same: continuing our strong growth within the industry and with the industry. Spark increases the opportunities for our workforce, as well as providing a pathway for aspiring event managers into the industry and to progress into senior roles.”
