read moreThe growing number of facilities investing money and space in functional training has created the challenge of how to best manage the functional training space to get a good return on the investment.
With owners and managers facing a range of functional training options, measuring its success is key. One measure is penetration - the percentage of all members get fully engaged in the centre’s functional training programs while another is how much net operating revenue - after expenses - it actually adds to the business.
Developed in New Zealand, TRIBE Team Training has become a leader in developing small group training programs, providing centres with a complete turn-key business model that gets adapted for each centre, its culture, space and goals.
For the participant, TRIBE Team Training is a high intensity functional fitness workout that combines the camaraderie and accountability of sports team training with cutting-edge programming.
With programs including TribeFIT, TribeCORE and TribeLIFE, for clubs, TRIBE Team Training’s key elements include:
• Business modelling for each centre. Before launching the planning goal is to provide an affordable program for members, extra income for team members and extra net revenue for the business.
• Low space needs - teams of 10 can operate safely in squash courts – around 60 metres2.
• There are six different branded programs from which the centre can choose to best match their various member segments.
• Lesson plans for each session are pre-tested. Content from each session flows into the next providing progression and consistency for members.
• The team training concept solves or minimises most of the challenges experienced by centre managers with functional training programs.
• A guided in-centre marketing program creates awareness, anticipation and demand amongst members.
• On-site training in TRIBE systems ensures high quality delivery and scalable programming for the centre.
TRIBE Team Training Chief Executive Haagon East, one of the training programs’ creators, explains “history has shown us that by working as a team we gain far greater results than when we work out on our own.”
Commenting on the success of TRIBE Team Training at the Lords Recreation Centre in Perth, Gym Leader Michael Hayes states “we’re all about giving our members as much as we possibly can, be it personal training, group fitness, having a gym, pool etc (but) before TRIBE Team Training the one thing we didn’t have was small group training.
“Giving members that extra little thing, TRIBE is for anyone and everyone, and something you can all do and really have a good time doing it, and get super fit while you’re at it.
“For us it helps us offer our members more options available under the one roof.”
