As a result of ongoing research and development in sports science, Swiss Timing has released a new anti-slip surface that assists the way the swimmers start from their blocks.

Research applied to the top surface design has resulted in a comfortable yet rough enough platform to guarantee the swimmer a feeling of total security.

Diving from the starting block with the body propelled by the knee at a 90° angle drastically increases the explosiveness of the start.

Physical tests undertaken by top level swimmers showed faster races using the OSB11 or OSB14 versus a standard block.

OSB11 and OSB14 Starting Blocks have been tested by world-class swimmers, who have helped to specify the optimum angles of both the platform and the footrest for racing starts.

The new top surface is now able to be provided in five colours enabling alignment of facility themes.
