Spalding to continue its association with NBL for multiple years

Leading basketball brand Spalding has extended its partnership with National Basketball League (NBL) for multiple years.
As the NBL’s official game ball, Spalding will also produce an exciting and extensive range of basketballs for fans to purchase and use to practice and play with.
Spalding Managing Director, Chris Lambert enthused “Spalding is delighted to be extending our partnership with the NBL. It’s an exciting time to be deeply involved with basketball in Australia. We are looking forward to bringing new products to the game and the fans as the League continues to grow.”
NBL Chief Executive David Stevenson added “Spalding is an iconic and famous brand in basketball, and we are delighted to have them return to our competition.
“As the second-best league in the world, our players expect and demand the highest quality basketballs that enable them to perform at their peak, and Spalding provides the perfect tool for their trade.
“Along with the high-performance element and what we see in our League, more Spalding basketballs will be bounced, dribbled and shot on community courts around the country as we bring the partnership to life beyond stadiums and into backyards and outdoor courts.
“Chris Lambert and the team at Spalding have been fantastic partners since joining the competition and we look forward to more fruitful years ahead.”
The 2023/24 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season begins on Thursday, 28th September, when Melbourne United hosts the South East Melbourne Phoenix at John Cain Arena.
The NBL was founded in 1979 and is the world’s best basketball league outside of the NBA. Currently composed of 10 teams (nine in Australia and one in New Zealand), game attendances, TV viewership, digital traffic and fan engagement have skyrocketed following new ownership in 2015. NBL teams are located in Adelaide, Auckland, Brisbane, Cairns, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, and Wollongong.
