Snow Australia welcomes Jen Krawczyk as new National Integrity Manager

Snow Australia welcomes Jen Krawczyk as new National Integrity Manager
August 31, 2022

Snow Australia has welcomed Jen Krawczyk as the new National Integrity Manager with Krawczyk's appointment being a shared role between Snow Australia, the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia (OWIA) and the Australian Curling Federation.

The appointment will see Krawczyk roll out and embed each organisation’s National Integrity Framework to their respective community.

The partnership with Sport Integrity Australia and the appointment of a National Integrity Manager is an important step in protecting the sport and its members from integrity threats like harassment, bullying, abuse, illicit drugs and competition manipulation.

Snow Australia Chief Executive Michael Kennedy welcomed Krawczyk to the snow sports family and noted "having spent a number of years working at the British Horseracing Authority and Racing Victoria, Jen joins us with a strong work history in integrity, project management, strategy development and delivery.

"In her role as National Integrity Manager, Jen will be integral to the education and implementation of the National Integrity Framework and its associated policies over the next 18 months.

"Jen’s role is a shared resource across Snow Australia, Olympic Winter Institute of Australia and the Australian Curling Federation, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with these organisations.”

Krawczyk said she is looking forward to getting to know the snow community and working with its members through the implementation of the National Integrity Framework.

“Adoption of the National Integrity Framework will mean that snow sports are one of more than 50 sports who are partnering with Sports Integrity Australia to have uniform standards of behaviour relating to member protection, child safeguarding, competition manipulation and use of medication and supplements,” she said.

“It will also provide an independent process for managing complaints of alleged breaches.

“Over the coming months more information and education will be available in relation to the Framework and what it means in day to day practice for the sport.  My priority will be communication and education about the Framework but I will also be the primary contact for any integrity concerns.”

Krawczyk added “I’m most looking forward to learning more about the different snow sports and meeting all the interesting people involved.”

By adopting the National Integrity Framework, Snow Australia now has six new integrity policies which apply to all members.

In addition, all complaints about possible integrity breaches will now be managed independently by Sport Integrity Australia, which Snow Australia hope will ensure people feel safe to speak up about any concerns.

Snow Australia’s National Integrity Framework came into effect on 1st June, 2022. The framework consists of six integrity-related policies, including:

  • National Integrity Framework
  • Member Protection Policy
  • Child Safeguarding Policy
  • Competition Manipulation and Sport Wagering Policy
  • Improper Use of Drugs and Medicine Policy
  • Complaints, Disputes and Discipline Policy

For more information about the Framework and associated policies visit Snow Australia’s Integrity webpage

Breaches and complaints related to these policies will be handled independently by Sport Integrity Australia. Complaints related to other snowsport policies, such as Selection Policy disputes, will remain with Snow Australia.
