Previously known as the Global Eco Asia-Pacific Tourism Conference, one of the longest running ecotourism conferences in the world, the Global Sustainable Tourism Summit combines the Global Eco Conference with the innovative ECO Think Destination Forum held in 2022 and 2023. Tourism Australia is the first Partner for the event.
The Global Sustainable Tourism Summit will explore the theme ‘People, Planet, Place, Purpose’, delving into how all sectors of the visitor economy can address the four pillars of sustainability: cultural, environmental, socio-economic, and sustainable business management.
Ecotourism Australia looks forward to connecting with tourism operators, destination managers and government and industry body representatives throughout the event.
Ecotourism Australia have an impressive program of topics and have welcomed some fifty speakers to the program, including Chief Frank Antoine of the Bonaparte First Nation in Canada to present international Indigenous tourism best practice case studies and dive into ways to collaborate with Indigenous stakeholders.
Guests will also include representatives from Tourism Australia, WWF-Australia, Deloitte, Weeva, Flight Centre and Intrepid to discuss the future of sustainable tourism, ecotourism as a transition economy, technological and data-based solutions for sustainability, and creating a positive socio-economic impact.
Ecotourism Australia will also be showcasing the outstanding efforts of ECO Certified and Sustainable Tourism Certified operators such as Kingfisher Tours, Wildlife Wonders, Sailaway Port Douglas, Busselton Jetty and Bundaberg Rum Distillery, across our program.
Early bird registrations have been extended for a short period only and must close 23rd February 2024.
