read moreGoulburn Mulwaree Council will be holding an open day to day allow the community to walk through the near complete Stage 1 Redevelopment of the Goulburn Aquatic and Leisure Centre on Saturday 11th December.
Council General Manager Warwick Bennett commented “we are nearing completion on this wonderful project, and thought it would be a great opportunity for community members to walk through the Aquatic Centre to see how much work has gone into the construction.
“You really need to walk through the facility to appreciate how big it is, and what a vast improvement it is for our region. We will only be holding the one open day for the Aquatic Centre, prior to completion and official opening in the early months of 2022, so I encourage you to take advantage of these tours.”
With tours to be guided in a series of groups from 10am on Saturday, all visitors will be required to check in and check out, be double vaccinated and participate in site induction.
Stage 1 of the Goulburn Aquatic and Leisure Centre redevelopment includes a new eight lane indoor pool, indoor program pool, hydrotherapy pool, water play areas, gym, café linking with Victoria Park, upgraded change rooms and facilities and new carparking facilities.
The outdoor pool at the Centre has been operating for the summer season since Monday 27th September with a strict COVIDSafe plan in place for its operation.
In another milestone for the NSW Southern Tablelands city, the new Goulburn Performing Arts Centre will open for performance 25th March 2022.
