Oasis’ Australian tour dates will not feature dynamic ticket pricing

After having announced a series of sold-out dates in the Europe, North America and Mexico for their reunion tour, English rock band Oasis to stage stadium concerts in Melbourne and Sydney in October and November next year.
However, following a range of problems with ticket sales with their Northern Hemisphere dates, the Australian concerts at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on 31st October and Sydney’s Accor Stadium on 7th November will not feature dynamic ticket pricing (the process of ticket prices being determined by demand).
As reported by The Guardian last month, tickets that were advertised for some European dates at £148.50 eventually increased to £355.20 as a result of demand.
All 28 dates have sold out.
The tour, the band's first to Australia in 20 years, is being presented by the Australasian arm of global touring titan Live Nation.
Oasis' management said dynamic pricing caused "an unacceptable experience for fans" after 10 million people from 158 countries logged on to purchase tickets to the band's UK and Ireland shows earlier this year.
In a statement, the band's management added "when unprecedented ticket demand (where the entire tour could be sold many times over at the moment tickets go on sale) is combined with technology that cannot cope with that demand, it becomes less effective and can lead to an unacceptable experience for fans."
Referring to the statement, and regarding the band's upcoming shows in Melbourne and Sydney, the tour publicist for Oasis's Australian visit advised "the same will apply here."
The band's reunion for the tour coincides with the 30th anniversary of the group's debut album, Definitely Maybe.
