read moreWith the Coronavirus having twice caused the postponement of the Fitness and Recreation Technology Summit, organisers are close to announcing new dates for 2022.
First held in 2019, Australia’s only technology summit for the exercise, fitness, recreation and related industries had to be rescheduled in 2020 and now again in 2021.
Nonetheless, organisers remain committed to bringing technology education to the industry this year.
Fitness and Recreation Technology Summit (FRITS) organiser Jess Abbey explains “as the crisis worsened in Sydney, we started planning what the event would look like if we had to postpone it.
“Our communication blockage to the industry has been caused by our venue understandably being on skeleton staff. They have numerous events to reschedule and limited resources.
“We are very close to confirming a date for February 2022.”
Despite, the disruption of the current lockdown in Greater Sydney, FRITS Managing Director, Justin Tamsett (pictured), says the winners will be the entire industry, stating “we know not just the last five weeks have been tough on our industry but the last 18 months.
“We racked our brains and thanks to the overwhelming support from our incredible sponsors we are excited to announce that every two weeks, beginning the 29th July we are taking the 2021 Summit on-line.
“Every session that delegates would have seen at the face-to-face event will now be a free Zoom webinar. At 3pm on Thursday every fortnight our incredible speakers have agreed to present their content. This means owners, managers and entrepreneurs will not miss out on the latest tech information to help their businesses in these challenging times.”
This ‘gift’ to the industry means that no matter where in Australia a business is located, they can learn from the best. The ability to provide such an opportunity is a direct result of the partners and sponsors of the Summit.
Abbey added “we have been so blessed by our partners and sponsors. They have been patient and supportive of the event. They will all be sponsors for the 2022 event and now they are just excited as us to bring such amazing content to the desktops of the industry.”
FRITS virtual launches this Thursday with a panel of owners explaining how they have developed their businesses during the past 18 months.
Then every two weeks following, up until November there will be a free webinar – totalling eight webinars.
