Largest circuit training session world record attempt falls short

Largest circuit training session world record attempt falls short
March 20, 2014

An attempt to gain a world record for participation in the world's 'Largest Personal Training Circuit session' fell short of numbers last weekend.

Staged at The Gabba on Saturday 15th March, the event attracted 1,810 exercisers, including elite Queensland athletes Susie O'Neil, Brendan Cannon, Christian Sprenger, David Stagg, Fletcher Dyson and players from the Brisbane Lions, the Brisbane Roar W-League team and Australian Water polo representatives.

Federal Sports Minister Peter Dutton also participated.

However, the event fell short of the World record of 2,061 paricipants in personal training circuit session.

The event was organised by Muscle Up for MND is an awareness and fundraising campaign to aid people impacted by Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Commenting on the event, Minister Dutton stated "there is always a lot of excitement surrounding these kinds of events, but it's important that we remember why we are participating.

"The work and assistance the MND and Me Foundation does plays a major role in supporting those in our community with Motor Neurone Disease."
