Gyms Add Value with Weight Loss
A new program for fitness clubs can help gym members achieve their weight loss goals.
As Malcolm McLean, Sales and Marketing Director for Ultra Lite Weight Management Systems explains "gyms have long been the focal point for people wanting to lose weight. However, while fitness instructors may have some knowledge of weight loss their training has been in the fitness industry.
"Additionally, simply doing exercise does not reduce fat, it may burn some but it doesn't address the underlying problem - what's needed is good nutritional system.
"(Without good nutrition) people leave gyms dissatisfied, they lose motivation and stop attending. That's neither good for the gym nor for the health of those concerned."
With the Ultra Lite program, which has been designed specifically for gyms, people can successfully be part of an exercise and weight loss program under the same roof.
This, McLean explains "increases the motivation for both exercise and weight loss."
Ultra Lite is a weight loss program ideally suited to gyms. It promotes fast but healthy weight loss and clients will enjoy higher energy levels while preserving valuable muscle making them ideal candidates to maintain exercise regimes.
There are no special meals or shopping as Ultra Lite's nutritional model relies on eating healthy amounts of fresh vegetables, protein and fruit with a restricted intake of carbohydrates and very low levels of sugar.
Simon Groube, Club General Manager, Genesis Fitness Maidstone explains "80% of our customers come here to lose body fat, so we needed a structured program.

Gyms are fast becoming aware of the advantages of providing clients with more than just fitness training, value-add programs such as Ultra Lite increase revenue and traffic.

When a gym decides to incorporate the Ultra Lite weight management system into their business they pay a licensing fee and they must provide a separate area for the clinic within the gymnasium.
In return the gym is given a designated licensed territory, extensive training, advertising materials, on-call support, a business listing on the Ultra Lite website, a 1300 number link-up and health fund rebates may be available for clients depending on the health benefit provider.
Product and materials for the program including weighing scales, brochures, weight loss manuals, detox kits, posters, tape measures and other equipment necessary to start-up a clinic within a gymnasium are also provided with the licensing fee.
