read moreThe Northern Territory Government is providing one-off grants of up to $2000 for community organisations and businesses to deliver events and activities during Seniors Month in August that celebrate the valuable contribution Senior Territorians make to the community
Held annually each August, Seniors Month events encourage older people to have a healthy lifestyle, become involved in new activities, and stay connected to their community.
Highlights from last year’s Seniors Month included excursions, workshops, a dinner dance for youth and seniors, swimming, and golf
Grant applications will be assessed for their potential to contribute to the achievement of these objectives. Funding is limited and competitive. Not all applications may be successful. Previous grant recipients should not assume that they will automatically receive further funding.
Organisations and businesses can now apply for grant funding online via grantsnt.nt.gov.au. Applications close 4 April 2022.
Northern Territory Minister for Seniors Lauren Moss advises “our seniors are valued Territorians and Seniors Month is an important time to celebrate the contributions they make, their accomplishments, and wisdom,” adding that the Territory Government is “proud to support community organisations and businesses that foster and enhance social connection by providing a range of events and activities and that’s why we’re offering this grant pool of around $65,000.”
Organisations and businesses can now apply for grant funding online via grantsnt.nt.gov.au.
Applications close 4th April 2022.
