Gateway Ticketing Systems provides ticketing point of sale system at Rottnest Island
Gateway Ticketing Systems has announced its selection by the Rottnest Island Authority as the location’s new ticketing point of sale provider.
The popular Rottnest Island offers family and outdoor activities on its 63 beaches, pristine snorkelling sites and more than 50 kilometres of trails and roads to explore via guided tour, bus or bicycle.
In addition to tours and beach activities, the Island offers an aquatic play attractions, museums exploring local history, a golf course and a cinema.
The Island’s million plus annual visitors now enjoy an enhanced visitor experience with the implementation of Gateway’s flagship point of sale solution, Galaxy™.
The Rottnest Island Authority (RIA), the statutory body that controls and manages the Island, is using Galaxy for tour and on-island transport sales, including bike and aquatic equipment rental items. In addition to activity-based sales, Galaxy is also being used for retail, food and beverage.
Guests to the Island can now purchase tours and bicycle rentals at point of sale stations onsite or online using the Island’s eGalaxy Consumer Web Store while the (RIA) has also implemented kiosks for tour and bus tickets.
The project, was installed in tandem with Gateway Value Added Reseller, Vticket, went live in November 2014.
Galaxy’s ability to meet all the Island’s business requirements, as well as the responsiveness of the Gateway and Vticket teams during the selection process, were essential to the Authority’s decision to go with Galaxy.
Commenting on this, Vticket Chief Executive Derek Stoneman stated “we are thrilled to be working with Rottnest Island Authority on their implementation of new Point of Sale, Web Store and Kiosk systems.
