Frankston waterslide due to reopen

The AquaSphere waterslide at Frankston’s Peninsula Aquatic Recreational Centre (PARC) is expected to reopen within weeks.
As a result of minor injuries sustained by two staff when testing the waterslide prior to the facility’s opening, the AquaSphere was not launched when the rest of the PARC facility was opened in September.
However, with a report by Canadian manufacturer WhiteWater finding no engineering or structural issues with the slide, it is now set to re open.
According to a report in the Frankston Standard Leader, the waterslide will now include on age and height restrictions.
Frankston Mayor Darrel Taylor advised that it is “also likely that the amount of people in a raft would be capped at three instead of four.”
PARC has also welcomed Tim Gledhill as its new Chief Executive.
Commenting on his appointment in a statement, Gledhill explained “PARC has been built to connect individuals and communities through diverse and exciting aquatic and physical activities.
“I’m excited to be at the helm of a project that will directly benefit residents.
“The centre is state of the art and the range of innovative facilities, services and experiences available ensure there really is something for everyone.”
