First event for new Bali convention centre

The newly opened Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre (BNDCC) has hosted its first event.
On 13th and 14th July, 1,000 guests from the Indonesian Ministry of the Environment attended a national meeting on environmental impact assessment.
BNDCC General Manager Desiria Wright explains "it is exciting to have the opportunity to host our first event. We have conducted a lot of internal training for the past few months and our team was ready to extend their service to make this meeting successful and memorable for its participants."
BNDCC is Bali's first convention centre and has been developed to as an adjunct to the island's successful tourism industry. It offers:
ï¾ The Nusa Dua Convention Hall, which can be divided into five sections and can accommodate up to 5,000 guests in a theatre-style setting or host a gala dinner for 2,800 seated at round tables of ten. The Uluwatu Rooms, consisting of seven smaller meeting rooms, ranging in capacity from 100 to 240 guests.
ï¾ On its Mezzanine floor, a total of eight meeting rooms can cater for up to 260 guests seated in theatre setting or 130 in a classroom set-up.
ï¾ A pre-function area providing 1,400 metres2 of space for luncheons, exhibitions or other events.
ï¾ The Nusa Dua Terrace, located on the top floor, which covers at 1,800 metres2s with three small offices available to serve as secretariats for conference organisers.
The venue offers two lobby entrances; the East Lobby, considered the main entrance, opens onto an area of 1,120 metres2 while the South Lobby, adjoins a 700 metre2 space. Both serve as pre-function areas suitable for cocktails, coffee breaks or as exhibition space.
BNDCC also offers facility-wide wireless internet access, installed with the demands of 'connected' exhibitors and conference delegates in mind.
BNDCC will be the official venue for the ASEAN Summit and East Asia Summit from 17th to 19th November 2011.
