ELEVATE Sydney 2023 to transform expressway into a festival playground

ELEVATE Sydney 2023 to transform expressway into a festival playground
December 12, 2022

The ELEVATE Sydney 2023 program will transform the Cahill Expressway into a festival featuring a dynamic line-up of more than 20 Australian artists across genres from children’s entertainment to electronic music, hip hop, pop and more.

ELEVATE Sydney headline musical acts include Australian singer-songwriter Amy Shark, musician and rapper Mallrat, electronic dance sister duo Kinder and The Veronicas.

Returning for its second year and running from 3rd – 7th January 2023, ELEVATE Sydney is a free ticketed event with registrations open at 10am on Tuesday 13th December 2022.

Delivered by AGB Events, which had been commissioned by Destination NSW, the event team includes Chief Executive and Creative Director Anthony Bastic who commented that ELEVATE Sydney reflects the diversity, vibrancy and energy of our city.

“We’re excited to bring the very best of Australian talent onto the world’s most unique festival stage,” Bastic said.

“ELEVATE Sydney is an invitation to experience the city anew. This exciting program will kick off 2023 in the most spectacular way and bring people into the city to celebrate.”

NSW Minster for Tourism Ben Franklin shared “Bring your family and friends, select a session that works for you and join the party as we celebrate Summer in Sydney and living in or visiting the best city in the world.

“The NSW Government proudly supports events like ELEVATE Sydney that not only turbocharge the local economy, but also serve as a platform for our homegrown stars.”

Highlights of the ELEVATE Sydney 2023 line-up include:

  • ELEVATE Family: A children’s street party with family favourites Bluey & Bingo, ERTH, Monski Mouse and The Gagliardies on the mainstage and even more performers, fun and games all along the festival site
  • ELEVATE Social: Australia’s best electronic music served up alongside the world’s best harbour views, featuring Kinder, Kito and Running Touch (DJ)
  • ELEVATE Nights: As the sun sets into night, the latest acts in Australian music will take to the mainstage. Artists include Amy Shark, Becca Hatch, Betty Who Client Liaison (DJ), Drax Project, Mallrat, Thelma Plum and The Veronicas.
  • OPEN FOR LUNCH, Noël Sydney and ELEVATE Sydney are part of the NSW Government’s Sydney in Summer event series.

The Cahill Expressway will be closed to traffic and pedestrians during ELEVATE Sydney and will reopen on 9th January 2023, with public transport and alternate routes available for visitors and residents.
