Chief Executives from Brand Tasmania and Tourism Fiji share insights at City Nation Place Global 2022
September 29, 2022

Todd Babiak, Chief Executive Brand Tasmania, and Brent Hill, Chief Executive Tourism Fiji are among the impressive line-up of senior place leaders presenting at this year’s City Nation Place Global being held in London from 9th to 10th November.

Brent Hill will be sharing on how Fiji is building back better post COVID and presenting on recovery and resilience while Todd Babiak leads a workshop posing the question “What do we mean by a ‘place brand narrative’ and how do we build it?” This workshop provides the tools to connect your strategy with your identity in order to engage your stakeholders more effectively.

Also presenting is Anthony Everett, President and Chief Executive of 4VI, who will be discussing the transformation from destination marketing organisation to a social enterprise and how they created a narrative that encouraged stakeholders to join them on this journey.

A strong, well-articulated vision for your place can help you compete more effectively for talent, for investment, and for tourism – to improve your place economy and the quality of life for your citizens. City Nation Place Global offers delegates the opportunity to discover how values and assets can be put at the heart of your place brand strategy to deliver greater returns for your community.

City Nation Place Global offerings:

  • Hear from four contrasting places around the world as they outline how they’re leveraging their place brand to respond to the global talent crisis and give you the ideas you need to enhance your own approach.
  • Create longer-lasting legacies from the events you host, as Sholto Douglas-Homes, Chief Marketing, Communications & Sales Officer for Expo 2020 Dubai, shares lessons from the Expo’s soft power success.
  • Discover practical tips and strategies to create more equitable spaces in your community, as Ursula Bauer, Head of Section Gender Mainstreaming for the City of Vienna, outlines the work being done to engage underrepresented communities in the shaping of Vienna’s place narrative.
  • Identify new ways to stand out from the crowd, as three different cities explain how they are investing in and promoting placed attractiveness by focussing on sport, blue economy, or rural quality of life, as their respective differentiators.
