read moreThe Victorian Government has opened applications for the latest round of the Touring Victoria program – ensuring more premium performances, exhibitions and creative events get to travel across the state.
The Touring Victoria program provides grants of between $10,000 and $150,000 for artists and creative organisations to take their productions, performances and exhibitions to regional and outer-metropolitan Victoria.
As well as providing Victorians with access to diverse arts and cultural experiences at their doorstep, the program backs Victorian artists and creative companies to build their profile and audience base across the state while providing an economic boost to the places they tour.
Victorian Minister for Creative Industries Colin Brooks noted “Through Touring Victoria, we’re making sure that the best live theatre, music and cultural events can hit the road and entertain and inspire people across the state.”
“Wherever you live in Victoria we’re working to ensure you have access to the best our creative state has to offer, while backing local artists, companies and venues to grow their audiences.”
Last year, Touring Victoria grants supported 6 companies to tour more than 20 destinations throughout the state.
This included regional performances and school workshops by Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Koorie Heritage Trust’s upcoming regional presentation of JXSH MVIR: FOREVER I LIVE, a bright and bold exhibition of work by the late Gunditjmara, Yorta Yorta and Barkindji artist Josh Muir, and the Flying Fruit Fly Circus’s show Tempo, which took the acclaimed youth circus company to audiences across Victoria earlier this year.
The 2024 round of the Touring Victoria program will support artists and shows to hit the road from 1st December 2024. Applications are now open and close on 1st August 2024.
