read moreThe Victorian Government has opened applications for the 2024-25 Change Our Game Community Activation Grants Program to support more women and girls get involved in the sports they are passionate about.
The grant program delivers more funds for sporting clubs and organisations to encourage and foster female participation.
Director of the Office for Women in Sport and Recreation Sarah Styles noted “The Change Our Game Community Activation Grants Program continues to support more women and girls to participate, as players and leaders, in community sport and active recreation.”
The program delivers grants of up to $10,000 to community sport and recreation clubs to help inspire women and girls to take part – including new women’s programs, hosting a women’s round as well as opportunities for club leadership roles.
Now in its eighth year, the Change Our Game Community Activation Grants Program has provided more than $2.9 million towards 580 grants to sport and active recreation clubs and organisations across the state.
A previous grant recipient was the Gippsland Soccer League which ran a six week Regional Female Administrator Leadership Program.
Since the program, the League’s Female Football Sub-committee is continuing to increase participation among women and girls, with the League also achieving a 50/50 gender balance on its Board of Directors in 2024.
Through the Fair Access Policy Roadmap, which has seen all Victorian councils and Alpine Resorts Victoria adopt local gender equitable access policies and the Community Activation Grants Program, the Victorian Government is helping achieve more equitable access and increase the number of women and girls actively taking part in sport.
Since 2018, the State Government has invested more than $2.9 million in funding to 580 community sport and recreation clubs as part of the $18.8 million investment in the Office for Women in Sport and Recreation and Change Our Game initiative.
Applications for this program close at 5pm AEDT, Wednesday 26th February 2025.
