AirActive sharing technology launched for exercise consumers

AirActive sharing technology launched for exercise consumers
April 7, 2016

The AirActive digital platform that connects active people with a variety of health and fitness classes, gym workouts and other activities has been launched to the Australian consumer market.

Positioned for rapid expansion throughout the Australian fitness, recreation and sport market, AirActive offers a new proposition among digital initiatives and sharing technology as it allows casual users to come to a facility or class with the provider maintain full pricing control of the visits.

Fitness entrepreneur and AirActive co-founder Jo Russell says “the health and fitness industry continues to grow in Australia, but there is still a huge part of the population that will not commit to a membership.

“AirActive is the first model that enable users to purchase a single casual visit with no membership or bulk purchase conditions. This benefits both the user and the service providers as well as the overall health and fitness industry.”

The platform consists of two sides. The online portal, where health and fitness providers register and add their available class schedules, and the App, where consumers can search for and book activities that suit their lifestyle.

Russell adds “when creating AirActive, everything came back to that win-win concept.

“We wanted clubs and studios to stay in full control of their pricing structure so that they could protect their membership baseand at the same time, fill their empty space with paying casual visitors.

“Consumers can search for classes that suite them without having to trawl through web sites or commit to a membership. This enables them to be flexible in their active lifestyle.”

AirActive, which has been accepting provider entries since December last year, allows providers complete freedom to choose and define the variables of the activities they promote, and key variable such as time, date, price and capacity.

And with free registration, there is absolutely no financial risk for facilities, clubs and studios to get on board. Like many other digital market places, AirActive simply takes a booking fee ($3.50) once a user books an activity in the App.

At the launch of the platform, AirActive already has over 30,000 activities input across Australia, with this number expected to rise sharply over the next few months as a result of user demand, and continual club and studio onboarding.
