Redevelopment has begun of East Fremantle Oval which when completed will provide an integrated community and sporting precinct. 

A Lotterywest grant of $1.3 million towards an all-abilities nature play space and skate zone takes the Western Australian Government's total investment in the Oval precinct to $26.3 million

The State Government's total contribution included its initial $20 million election commitment and an additional $5 million contribution in April last year due to rising construction costs.

The Oval will have facilities for the East Fremantle Football Club, East Fremantle Bowls Club, and East Fremantle Croquet Club and will be a space for members of the community to gather, connect, recreate, and participate, offering community gardens, a café, health club, function centre, meeting rooms and the all-abilities nature play space.

WA Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman enthused "I am thrilled to see construction work finally happening at the East Fremantle Oval precinct.

"With state-of-the-art facilities this will be a vibrant hub for local sporting clubs and the wider community; a welcoming space to keep everyone of all ages and abilities active, healthy, and connected.”
