2014 Festival of Cycling and Wellness at Sydney Olympic Park
Popular community cycling and fitness events will headline the month-long 2014 Festival of Cycling and Wellbeing at Sydney Olympic Park from Saturday 11th October to Sunday 9th November.
Marking its 10th year of operation at Sydney Olympic Park, this year's Festival features more than just cycling-based events to encourage more Sydneysiders to get active and cognisant about the importance of fitness this spring.
Including the annual Real Insurance Spring Cycle, supported by Transport for NSW, the 2014 Festival of Cycling and Wellbeing will feature various events and activities for spectators and participants alike, including:
Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October: The Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer
The Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer will see thousands of riders of all abilities take part at their own pace to help raise funds for the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse of RPA - a cancer treatment and research facility providing integrated care and support to public/private patients.
The two-day ride will begin at 7.00am on Olympic Boulevard beneath the Olympic Cauldron, before finishing at the same position at 5.00pm on 12th October after a winding route that covers approximately 100 kilometres per day.

Sunday 12th to Sunday 26th October: Sydney BMX Club Point Series
The Sydney BMX Club Point Series race is an adventure day with some of Australia’s best budding BMX riders.
An activity for the whole family to enjoy, rides are between 10am and 1:30pm.

Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th October: Fitness Show NSW
New to the Festival, the Fitness Show NSW will showcase the latest fitness programs, accessories and clothing, live sporting events and feature fitness celebrities including Commando Steve who will run VIP training sessions.
The event will be held at Sydney Showground and will start at 9:30am and end at 5:30pm on both days.

Sunday 19th October: Brompton Australian Championships
This year the highly-loved and highly compact Brompton bikes will hit Olympic Boulevard with riders from around Australia, Oceania and South-East Asia for a fun-filled day of racing to take out the grand prize that includes return flights to the UK to represent Australia in the 2015 Brompton World Championships.
The event will commence at 12:30pm and is free to watch.

The Sydney Club Cup will host a competitive race conducted across four grades, with the main event seeing Sydney’s elite ride in a rare club level team event.

The Handcycling Criterium showcases the best handcyclists from across the state, racing in teams from a range of clubs. The event is FREE however all competitors must be members of Wheelchair Sports NSW.

Sunday 19th October: Real Insurance Spring Cycle
The annual Real Insurance Spring Cycle supported by Transport for NSW attracts more than 10,000 riders in a celebration of cycling.
The ‘Classic’ ride starts in North Sydney and continues across the Sydney Harbour Bridge and on to the festival-style atmosphere and finishes at Cathy Freeman Park at Sydney Olympic Park, where there'll be music, food, exhibitors and entertainment at the finish line.

Sunday 19th October: Networking Intensive Training Summit
The Networking Intensive Training Summit is a one-day summit (9:30am – 5:30pm) at Sydney Showground for fitness instructors to educate themselves in either two strands: training women or training groups in a day of fun and fitness.

Sunday 2nd November: Rebel Run Sydney
For elite runners, wheelchair athletes and walkers, the Rebel Run Sydney presented by The Sun-Herald is a fun run for everyone to enjoy. Choose between a 3km run or master a 10km or half marathon.
The half marathon is at 6.45am, the 10km run at 8am and the 3km fun run is at 9.30am all at Olympic Boulevard.

Sunday 9th November: Financial Review Corporate Cycling Challenge
The Financial Review Corporate Cycling Challenge will be back for another year and will offer teams the chance to compete in a team time trial format against World Tour Cyclists.
To commence at 8.00am, teams of four to eight people will race against other teams on a 16km closed course from Olympic Boulevard.
