The Opportunity
Hume City Council is looking for someone experienced in delivering Aquatic Programs to Schools, Clubs and community group programs with the view to enhancing aquatic education and recreation opportunities to the Hume City Council community.

In this role, you will create a safe, friendly, and welcoming environment for all patrons whilst delivering programs in accordance with the relevant governing bodies, such as Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS), and Hume City Councils ‘Service First' policies.

You will effectively and efficiently carry out the tasks necessary to maintain and assist in the growth and quality of our Aquatic programs, facilities, and services.

Based at the Sunbury Aquatic and Leisure Centre you will coordinate the day-to day operations and assist the Coordinator Hume Swim School deliver industry leading Aquatic Programs to one of the most diverse communities in Victoria.

What is a "Team Leader - Aquatics Programs" at Hume City Council?
The following knowledge and skills are required to be utilised:

  • Develop, implement, and manage the delivery of Aquatic Programs and Services as they relate to Schools, Clubs and community groups.
  • Ability to formulate, organise and administer Aquatic Program plans to deliver the effective ‘roll out' of programs to the community.
  • The ability to provide appropriate recommendations to clients relating to program options and suitability.
  • Ability to competently operate the Envibe program including bookings, financials, and course-pro.
  • The ability to perform and demonstrate water education skills and the ability to effectively impart knowledge of water education skills to clients appropriately and effectively.
  • Understanding of principles of Occupational Health & Safety as they relate to this position.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft office products including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Qualifications and Experience

  • AUSTSWIM ‘Teacher of Swimming' Certificate and Water Safety Certificate
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Working with Children Check

Tertiary qualifications relating to sport and recreational management or a similar field OR a less formal qualification with demonstrated skills and relevant experience in the coordination of an aquatic education program, including program development and the supervision of aquatic education program staff.
