Recreation Aotearoa has announced that registration is now open for New Zealand’s aquatics industry conference, Waves 2022, which will be held 24th – 26th August Waves 2022 at the Palmerston North Conference and Function Centre.
This year’s conference is celebrating 60 years of the aquatic industry coming together. The first Swimming Pool Managers Seminar was held in 1962 in New Plymouth. Over the years that name has changed to JAWS and now Waves, but the kaupapa of the seminars/conferences has remained the same – bringing people from the aquatics industry together.
The Waves 2022 conference aims to increase knowledge in the industry by creating a sharing platform among delegates, to support individual and collective growth, and build a sense of place among emerging professionals.
This year's theme is 'In It Together' and delegates will hear from industry experts speaking to topics such as diversity and inclusion, connecting with your community, creating safe and sustainable places, and more.
Delegates will have the opportunity to reconnect and network with their peers, visit award-winning facilities, meet a huge selection of trade exhibitors, and help shape the future of our industry.
Waves 2022 is offering two different field trips to choose from with each field trip following different themes and featuring expert speakers to give delegates behind-the-scenes information at every location.
The Palmerston North Field Trip offers a visit to the Lido, Splashhurst and the brand new Memorial Park water play area while the Feilding and Whanganui Field Trip offers delegates a visit to the Makino Aquatic Centre and Splash Centre Whanganui.
