With the Awards having launched a nationwide campaign inviting destinations to host the Event Awards ceremony, Sydney venue manager Doltone House submitted the successful bid to host the event for the next three years. Business Events Sydney in collaboration with the NSW Government put forward the bid to secure the event, aiming to both help grow the Awards and to promote Sydney as a premier Australian events destination.
Commenting on the bids, Awards Managing Director Ian Steigrad stated "we (were) offered everything from ballrooms to theatres, theme parks, museums and galleries, quarries, piers and outdoor spaces.
"This presented quite a task for us to select the winner, but in the end, Sydney's powerful bid was a stand-out due to its collaborative strength and significant government support both vital in ensuring the prosperity of the broader events industry in Australia."
In 2013, Doltone House will showcase its spectacular new Hyde Park venue, which boasts uninterrupted views of the iconic Hyde Park while, in 2014 and 2015, Doltone House's Darling Island Wharf and Jones Bay Wharf venues will host the evening.
The 2013 Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday 19th November.
The Australian Event Awards are the pinnacle awards program for the events industry in Australia.
