Sunshine Coast partners with Expedia to encourage interstate tourism

Sunshine Coast partners with Expedia to encourage interstate tourism
February 3, 2022

With borders now reopened, Visit Sunshine Coast has launched a new campaign with leading travel platform Expedia Group under the Wotif booking site to encourage travellers to return to the region.

The new campaign aligns with Sunshine Coast’s ‘Immerse Yourself For real’ campaign which highlights inspirational reasons to visit the region.

Targeting the key interstate markets of New South Wales and Victoria as well as intrastate Queensland, the new campaign offers special deals of up to 15% off accommodation.

Visit Sunshine Coast Chief Executive Matt Stoeckel said the aim of the online campaign was simple - to increase visitors, room nights and travel to the region during the destination shoulder periods.

Stoeckel advised “with over 150 Sunshine Coast accommodation offerings listed via Wotif, this exciting campaign will provide hot deals for holiday-makers to book their next break on the Sunshine Coast,

“We know there is pent up demand for travel to the Sunshine Coast, particularly from the key states of New South Wales and Victoria.  Interstate travel is back in 2022 and we look forward to welcoming these high-value visitors that spend more and stay longer.”

Wotif Managing Director Daniel Finch adds “Wotif is thrilled to be able to help encourage even more Aussies to visit the beautiful Sunshine Coast. We know it’s a favourite spot for Aussie travellers year-round, and with borders open and excellent deals on offer, it’s the perfect time to lock in your next getaway.”

The Wotif campaign is running from now until 5th March.

A selection of participating properties offering up to 15% off include:

  • The Point Coolum Beach
  • Alexandra on the Pacific, Alexandra Headland
  • Portobello By the Sea, Dicky Beach
  • Beachfront Towers, Maroochydore
  • Windward Apartments, Mooloolaba
  • RACV Noosa Resort, Noosa Heads
