Shade covers evolve into textile architecture
A new brand of shade structures suitable for gyms, sports pitches and halls, tennis courts, bowling alleys, spectator stands, weightlifting, futsal, skate parks and changing rooms are now available in Australia.
Going beyond traditional shade covers, SMC2 structures are described as surface architecture, protecting and reducing surface temperature in outdoor aquatic, fitness, recreation and sport facilities.
SMC2 specialise in the design and construction of innovative buildings to cover existing or new aquatic, fitness, recreation and sport facilities with constructive solutions based on a glulam frame and a 100% UV-proof membrane cover. The protection that SMC2 structures provide contributes to dramatically decreases in surface temperature and offers a protective and comfortable space for year-round sport in all weather conditions.
SMC2 constructive solutions are adapted to all kind of sports and the design and materials of their structures make them architecturally interesting for projects that have a public visibility.
SMC2 provide clients with tailored, sustainable and contemporary solutions from the concept phase to the construction and are also suitable for storage domes, industrial hangars and school playground.
SMC2 are exhibiting on stand 70 at the National Synthetic Surfaces Conference & Expo in Sydney on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th June.
