More than 11,000 Scouts from across Australia and other countries have helped set a world record for the biggest game of Laser Tag.

Held during the two-week 2013 Australian Scouts Jamboree at Maryborough Showgrounds in Queensland in January, Scouts Australia used 500 Laser Tag phasers so hundreds of scouts could play at any one time.

Gaming through two sessions a day, morning and afternoon, a new record of almost 10,000 people playing laser tag at one event was set. The event also marked biggest single rental of laser tag equipment in the world by hirers Battlefield Sports.

The Jamboree is held every three years with scouts travelling from across Australia as well as internationally. It will be held in Sydney in 2016.
