read moreNRL players have visited 82,000 students in 340 schools across four countries in the past seven days as part of rugby league's 2013 Community Carnival.
Now in its second week, the Community Carnival has seen players from the North Queensland Cowboys visit 10 schools in Mount Isa, 900 kilometres west of their home ground in Townsville, while the Parramatta Eels have visited 11 schools in Shoalhaven and the Penrith Panthers attended 20 schools in the Bathurst area.
NRL players have been delivering the NRL's new 'Tackle Bullying' campaign during their visits with the focus of this year's 12th Community Carnival being on anti-bullying.
Cowboys player Tariq Sims explained "it's great for us to be able to visit young fans in Mount Isa who don't usually get the opportunity to meet Rugby League players.
"We will be speaking with kids about what bullying is; how to identify it and how to deal with it when it's happening around them. Hopefully they will get the message that it's never okay to bully someone."
