New Campbelltown mini golf complex pulls in crowds
Campbelltown's newly-opened Mega Mini Golf complex has turned into a regional tourist attraction.
The American-style, multi-themed indoor mini golf centre was created using the expertise of movie props man Phillip Beadsmoore, who worked on the Star Wars and Superman movies.
Its 18-hole course winds through a fantasy wonderland of jungle-clad Mayan ruins, pyramids and moving mummies, and wild west streets where taking your shot can end in a shootout.
Mini-golfers have flocked to the complex, believed to be the only mini golf course in Sydney's southwest, since it opened.
Centre owners Simon and Kylie McCoy said they were amazed at the welcoming response from the community, telling the MacArthur Chronicle "people are telling us this is what they've been wanting and needing, and local businesses have been so supportive - we've never encountered such a warm, welcoming vibe before."
McCoy explained that mini-golfers were enjoying the challenges of completing the holes adding "we wanted to make it all really interesting, so the props and features are very realistic, the holes are challenging and there are some interesting surprises in store when you play."
